Overview
The new terminal 1 at JFK "aspires to be among the top airport terminals in the world," according to Governor Kathy Hochul's office. CAS' scope in the 2,400,000-square-foot, 23-gate, state-of-the-art facility includes baggage claim, ticketing, security, and border protection/customs areas. Estimated completion year is 2026.
A design-build team of AECOM Tishman and Gensler has been tapped for the massive revamp, which is expected to generate over 10,000 jobs. CAS is also building a new 1,200,000-square-foot Terminal 6 that includes former Terminals 6 & 7. Estimated completion year is 2028.
